Sophie Sweets was created to bring elevated, gourmet desserts to the fast-paced world of college campuses — combining the beauty and quality of a custom bakery with the convenience students and families need. Founded by Auburn University Alum, Sophie Snyder, the concept grew from years of experience designing custom cakes through her wedding cake business, Sophie Cheffy. After spending the spring of 2026 developing Sophie Sweets through Auburn University’s Incubator program — where it became the first student concept brought to life in the space — Sophie gained hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, operations, branding, and hospitality leadership while refining a scalable campus dessert model designed specifically for university life.
Introducing the Sophie Sweets Campus Collection
Growing up in Auburn and baking custom cakes from home while still in high school, Sophie saw firsthand how often birthdays, game-days, graduations, bid days, and celebrations sneak up on people. Traditional custom bakeries typically require long lead times, while grocery store cakes often lack creativity, quality, and personalization. Sophie Sweets was designed to eliminate that trade-off.
The Sophie Sweets campus model offers trendy, made-from-scratch gourmet cakes and cake cups available with quick turnaround times and seamless online ordering. Students can order desserts for next-day pickup, use dining dollars, and conveniently retrieve their orders through secure on-campus pickup systems. Parents can even send personalized cakes to students from anywhere in the country, creating an easy and meaningful way to celebrate milestones away from home.
With a focus on fresh ingredients, modern design, operational efficiency, and hospitality-driven service, Sophie Sweets reimagines what celebration desserts can look like on college campuses. Following her graduation from Auburn University, Sophie is now focused on officially launching and expanding the Sophie Sweets campus product line beginning in August 2026.
